The Strategic Opportunity Stipends (SOS) is designed to help individual artists of all disciplines take advantage of unique opportunities that will significant benefit their work to artists living in ALLEGANY, CATTARAUGUS, CHAUTAUQUA, ERIE, and NIAGARA counties.
This program is designed to help individual artists working in all disciplines take advantage of unique opportunities that may significantly benefit their work or career development. Visual, literary, media, music, theatre, craft, folk, interdisciplinary, and performing artists may request support ranging from $100 to $600 for specific forthcoming opportunities.
Funding from the program is offered three times per year, the next deadline for applications in ROUND 3 is Thursday, May 28, 2009. The proposed activities/opportunities must take place between July 1, 2009 – October 31, 2009.

The 2009 Erie County Decentralization (DEC) program is in full swing and the Arts Council in the process of creating an online calendar of all DEC funded events happening throughout the year to be featured on the website. If you are a 2009 DEC grant receipient please make sure you have a complete program information sheet into the Regrants Office.
